Each member of the Flight Team has been assigned to local Fire / EMS Services, as your personal Medstar Liaison.

Following the classroom portion, the Medstar helicopter will be available at your site for Fire Department / EMS review.

The Medstar Flight Team and helicopter is available for visits to your community event, class, or career fair.

Site Visits / Public Relations

Spend some time with the Medstar Team. 6 hour shifts include orientation to aircraft operations and safety, and flight medicine.

Continuing Education hours are earned.

Maximum weight limit is 200 pounds, and participation is limited to current practicing EMT’s, Paramedics, Registered Nurses in Acute Care Areas (Emergency, ICU, CCU) and physicians. Limited scheduling is available based of weather, crew configuration, and aircraft availability.

Flight Observer Program

The School of EMS at Memorial Medical Center offers education for certification as an EMT-Paramedic. The 11 month program includes 400 hours of classroom time, 400 hours of clinical rotations, and 100 hours of filed externships.

Courses in ACLS, BCLS, PHTLS, PALS, NRP, PEPP and GEMS are also offered.
