Both MedSTAR I and MedSTAR II offer their services by ground whenever requested.  Whether it's during inclement weather or for very specific patient requests, MedSTAR crews are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Whenever weather doesn't cooperate and a patient still needs a high level of care, MedSTAR utilizes the rapid response of the following ambulance services: For ground transport from the Somerset County area, MedSTAR I utilizes Somerset Area Ambulance.  When in Cambria County, MedSTAR II utilizes Hastings Ambulance, Patton Ambulance, Veterans Ambulance or John Carroll Ambulance.  When either crew is at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown and in need of urgent ground transport, Seventh Ward Ambulance Association is used.
